Country pub with rooms rather than 'hotel' as such. Room good size, clean, neat bathroom. Nice open country view from window. Friendly staff but not many of them.
Pub side was disappointing = 11 pm saturday night virtually empty: I've never been in an English pub at this time that was empty, usually the opposite. Something wrong therefore - no 'atmosphere' in the bar that night!

The room was newly decorated and very presentable. The staff were more than helpful. The food and beer were of a high quality.

Atmospheric hotel, nice garden, peaceful location on racing events on the bar TV. Smooth check-in, late check-out, welcoming staff. Generally first-class service with parking onsite. Not to mention good wifi! Simply no complaint, really amazing stay.

Very friendly staff and a lovely location. The food was good value and good quality. The bed was clean, we had no problems with room 15 as others have stated and would definately go again.Lovely atmospher felt comfortable and relaxed.
The rooms decoration was a bit tired but the staffs attitudes and friendliness compensated for this.

The twin room provided a good amount of space, no disturbances from the outside. The beer garden offered a nice spot to unwind, especially when we had to wait for room arrangements.
The steep, narrow stairs are part of the building's charm, but could pose challenges, especially for anyone with mobility issues. The carpet on the stairs showed several marks, which may not be ideal for a hotel setting. Breakfast served before 8:30 am felt restrictive, particularly for those who prefer a slower morning. The seating arrangement in the room featured a chair that was too low for comfort, forcing us to sit on the bed. The shower area required some cleaning attention, as our towel got dirty after drying excess water.

Charming stay in a cozy spot
We spent one night in a super comfy room at this quaint old pub. The staff were really friendly, and the vibe was so homey! I loved being greeted warmly and the greenery outside made it all even better. Managed a quick lunch, but it was kinda just okay. Still, I'd say it was a nice little getaway!

Period decoration & attention to detail. Good food at reasonable cost (bar food only). Very reasonable room rates and surprisingly good full english breakfast included within the cost. Free WiFi and no pets allowed (have an allergy to them)

The breakfast was practically thrown at us. We were not asked what we wanted so we left most of the poorly cooked food on the plate. I had to go find someone in order to check out although it was after 9 am. That person was in the kitchen placing on plates already cooked breakfast food in a very dirty kitchen. I would not stay here in future.
